FETAC Occupational First Aid Refresher Course Details:

Occupational First Aid Certificates are valid for 2 years- it is essential therefore that First Aiders receive regular refresher training in order to ensure their certificate is in date.
This course will keep a current First Aid Certificate in-date.

FETAC Occupational First Aid Refresher CourseObjective:

On completion of this course participants will be able to:

· Explain new developments in First Aid

 Introduction
· Approach and priorities
· Shock
. Unconsciousness
· Examination of unconscious casualty
· Recovery position
. Resuscitation
· Brief anatomy and physiology of the heart
· Definition, signs and causes of asphyxia
· Asphyxia video
· Heimlich manoeuvre
· Expired air resuscitation including external chest compressions
· Heart attack

Who Should  Attend the FETAC Occupational First Aid Refresher Course:

 Any qualified Occupational First Aider who's certificate is less than three years old.

Participants complete a practical and theoretical exam
On successful completion of the exam participant’s certificates will be validated for a further three years from their original expiry date.
