Basic First Aid Course Details: 

This is a basic first aid course which provides participants with grounding in the principles of emergency first aid.

N.B This course will not meet a company's Occupational First Aider requirements under current Health & Safety Legislation but is an excellent way to increase the awareness of First Aid in the workplace.

Basic First Aid Course Objective:

On completion of the course participants will be able to:
· Assess the extent of injury
· Provide emergency First Aid in the workplace
· Deal effectively with common workplace injuries

Basic First Aid Course Programme:

· Responsibilities of a First Aider, assessment and initial reaction
· Diagnosis and principles of treatment
· Patient approach
· Examination of casualty
· Electric shock and burns
· Wounds and bleeding
· Control of bleeding
· Sprains, strains and dislocation
· Crush injuries
